Plechash: Finstad Steps Up on Fraud While Klobuchar Fails
“Billions of dollars stolen from Minnesota taxpayers. Kids who were supposed to be fed, robbed. And where was Amy Klobuchar? Nowhere.
She’s sent out over 1,000 press releases. Not one about the fraud. She’s the ranking member on the committee that oversees it, and she couldn’t be bothered to show up to the hearings.
Worse, she tried to send more of your money out the door. Klobuchar teamed up with Ilhan Omar on a $1 million earmark for Generation Hope MN, a nonprofit run out of the space above a restaurant by three people who share a home address one of who tried ro join ISIS. The money only got stopped because Republican senators caught it and blew the whistle. They’ve since asked the Justice Department to investigate.
Brad Finstad took a different path. He wrote the National Fraud Enforcement Division Act to make DOJ’s new fraud-fighting division permanent. It passed the House with bipartisan support. Now Amy Klobuchar plays DC games and won’t support it in the Senate.
Minnesota Republicans have been fighting this fraud for years. Klobuchar only found her voice when she wanted to be governor.
Minnesotans are done with talk. They want the fraud stopped and the people responsible held accountable. Brad Finstad is getting it done in Washington. Lisa Demuth will get it done in St. Paul.”
