STATEMENT FROM ALEX PLECHASH

Minnesotans are being asked a simple question: how did government grow nearly eight times faster than our population?

According to publicly available data from the National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO), the U.S. Census Bureau, and Federal Reserve economic data (FRED), Minnesota’s population grew just 6% over the last decade—while state spending surged by 48%, even after adjusting for inflation.

And what do we have to show for it?

Our schools are failing.
Our infrastructure is crumbling.
Our streets aren’t safe.
Our hospitals are going bankrupt.

All while billions of taxpayer dollars have been lost to fraud and abuse—on the DFL’s watch.

And yet… no accountability.

No one is fired.
No one is held responsible.
No one in charge answers for it.

Governor Walz, Senator Klobuchar, and DFL leadership continue to ignore the consequences of their policies while Minnesotans are left footing the bill.

This is what one-party control produces:
More spending.
Worse results.
Zero accountability.

The reality is clear: the one-two punch of Governor Tim Walz’s incompetence in Minnesota and Senator Amy Klobuchar’s enabling in Washington has put our state into decline.

They can try to spin it.
They can try to deflect.
But they can’t blame anyone else for what Minnesotans are living through every day.

This didn’t happen overnight—and it didn’t happen by accident.
It’s the direct result of years of failed leadership and one-party control by the DFL.

Minnesotans see it.
They feel it in their paychecks, in their communities, and in their declining quality of life.

And in November, they’re going to do something about it.

They’re going to restore balance.
They’re going to demand accountability.
And they’re going to send a clear message that Minnesota is ready for new leadership.
