Plechash: Klobuchar Must Condemn Walz Pardon of Convicted Child Rapist

  • Post category:Statement

Statement from Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash

Amy Klobuchar needs to answer a very simple question: does she agree with Tim Walz pardoning a man convicted of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old child?

Tou Lue Vang was convicted in 2006 of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a 10-year-old girl. The Department of Homeland Security said Vang was set to be removed from the United States before the pardon, and that the June 10, 2026 pardon could now prevent his removal.

This is not complicated. A man convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child should not receive a pardon from Minnesota’s Democrat leadership. Governor Walz made his choice. Now Senator Klobuchar needs to tell Minnesota parents whether she stands with victims and children, or with Tim Walz and the radical Democrats who continue to put criminals first.

Silence is not leadership. Silence is not moderation. And if Amy Klobuchar refuses to condemn this pardon, Minnesotans can only conclude she is standing with Tim Walz.

Minnesota families deserve leaders who protect children, defend victims, and put public safety ahead of politics. Amy Klobuchar should answer today.
