MNGOP Chairman Alex Plechash Responds to Election Results: “Our Work Is Far From Over”
ST. PAUL, MN — Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash issued the following statement following Tuesday’s election:
“While last night’s results were not what we worked for or hoped for, I could not be prouder of the candidates who stepped forward to lead our state. From top to bottom, I believe we had the strongest group of statewide candidates our party has fielded in years.
“Lisa Demuth, Ryan Wilson, Michele Tafoya, Ron Schutz, Tad Jude, and Scott Jensen, along with our outstanding congressional and legislative candidates, gave Minnesotans a clear choice and a vision for a better future. I also want to thank the thousands of volunteers, donors, and grassroots leaders who gave so much to this effort.
“Now we must take an honest look at where we fell short, learn from this election, and build a stronger Republican Party capable of winning statewide.
“Amy Klobuchar and the DFL now have complete control of Minnesota government. With that control comes complete responsibility. They will own the decisions they make on taxes, spending, fraud, public safety, and affordability. Republicans will hold them accountable every step of the way.
“Our mission has not changed. We will fight for responsible government, safer communities, lower taxes, and greater opportunity for every Minnesotan. We may have lost this election, but we have not lost our determination to win Minnesota’s future. Our work starts today.”
