“Speaker Lisa Demuth, House Republican Leader Harry Niska, Senate Republican Leader Mark Johnson, and Republican legislators delivered for Minnesota.
Let’s remember how this started. House Democrats refused to show up for work for weeks because they did not get their way. While Minnesotans were going to work, paying their bills, and expecting their government to do its job, Democrats stayed home.
Republicans showed up.
And because Republicans showed up, stayed united, and used the leverage voters gave us, Minnesota taxpayers got real results.
Republicans delivered $400 million in tax relief. They secured $125 million in property tax relief. They cut car tab fees by $250 million. They ended the ballpark tax. They helped Minnesota businesses through federal tax conformity. They helped end taxpayer-funded MinnesotaCare for illegal immigrant adults. They advanced Medicaid accountability reforms. They passed an independent Office of Inspector General to go after fraud. And they forced a very liberal governor and Senate DFL majority to accept tax relief they never would have passed on their own.
That is a strong two-year record.
Democrats gave Minnesota higher costs, fraud, chaos, and excuses. Republicans brought accountability, affordability, and common sense.
Speaker Demuth, Leader Niska, Leader Johnson, and Republican legislators deserve tremendous credit. They did not have full control of state government. They had a tied House, a Democrat Senate, and Tim Walz in the governor’s office — and they still delivered.
Minnesotans should remember that. With half the House, Republicans got results. With a Republican House, Republican Senate, and Republican governor, we can finally get Minnesota back on track.”
