St. Paul, MN – Minnesota Republican Party Chair Alex Plechash released the following statement in response to today’s ruling from the Minnesota Supreme Court:
“This outrageous ruling—pushed by Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and the Democrats’ radical woke agenda—undermines the very foundation of fairness in women’s sports. Once again, Walz and Ellison have chosen to side with the most extreme fringe of their party at the expense of Minnesota’s girls and women.
Every parent in Minnesota knows this is wrong. Girls deserve to compete on a level playing field, not against biological males. Yet, instead of standing up for fairness, Walz and Ellison are tearing down the protections that generations of female athletes fought to earn.
It’s time to end this nonsense and return to common sense. Minnesota Republicans will continue leading the fight to restore fairness in women’s sports and ensure that our daughters have the opportunity to compete and win based on skill, dedication, and hard work—not ideology.
We call on Democrats to stop appeasing the radical left and join Republicans in fixing this immediately so our girls can compete fairly.”
