“Congratulations to Scott Jensen on a decisive victory in tonight’s Republican primary for State Auditor.
“After years of massive fraud and failures of government oversight, Minnesota desperately needs a watchdog taxpayers can trust. Scott Jensen has the experience, independence and proven willingness to ask the hard questions and take on the political establishment.
“The contrast with Zack Filipovich could not be clearer. Filipovich spent eight years in Duluth city government, where taxpayers repeatedly faced higher property-tax levies. In 2021, he personally helped propose another property-tax levy increase. Now he wants to be the person responsible for holding local government accountable.
“The State Auditor should be the watchdog — not the politician who helped raise the tax bill. Putting Filipovich in charge of accountability is putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.
“Scott Jensen will follow the money, expose waste and fraud, demand accountability and fight to restore public trust in government.
“Tonight Scott won the Republican nomination. In November, Minnesotans will elect Scott Jensen and finally put a proven fighter for taxpayers in the State Auditor’s office.”
