Statement from Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash
Amy Klobuchar has spent decades in Washington perfecting the art of sounding agreeable while refusing to take a clear stand.
On nuclear power, she says she is “open to it.” On whether Minnesota should expand reliable, affordable energy, she says we need to “figure this out.” That is not leadership. That is Washington hedging.
Minnesota families are facing higher costs. Employers need reliable power. Farmers, manufacturers, small businesses, and emerging industries like data centers all need an energy policy that supports growth instead of driving jobs and investment out of our state.
Republicans are leading on this issue. We support repealing Minnesota’s 32-year ban on new nuclear power and pursuing an all-of-the-above energy strategy that delivers clean, reliable, affordable energy for Minnesota families and businesses.
The contrast in this race could not be clearer. Republicans are offering leadership, lower costs, and economic growth. Amy Klobuchar is offering hotdish, platitudes, and the same D.C. caution tape she has wrapped around every tough issue for years.
Minnesota does not need a governor who waits to see which way the political winds are blowing. Minnesota needs a governor with the backbone to lead.
