Statement from Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash
“Speaker Lisa Demuth, House Republican Leader Harry Niska, Senate Republican Leader Mark Johnson, and Republican legislators delivered real results for Minnesota taxpayers.
In negotiations with Governor Walz and legislative Democrats, Republicans used their leverage to secure a much stronger deal for Minnesota families: $250 million to reduce auto license tab fees, property tax relief, strict accountability measures tied to state support for HCMC, and a responsible bonding bill focused on real statewide needs.
This is what responsible government looks like: lower costs for families, protect critical care, and demand accountability for every taxpayer dollar.
After years of one-party DFL control, runaway spending, fraud, and higher taxes, the message is clear: the days of blank checks and no accountability are ending.
Minnesotans should expect more of this when we replace Tim Walz and the DFL this fall and bring real fiscal accountability back to state government.”
