MN GOP Statement: Call for Peace

“Last week the Republican Party of Minnesota and Republican National Committee condemned the terrible actions that took place at the United States Capitol.

“Today we reinforce that position and call for peace across Minnesota and across our country. We do not and will not ever condone the violent actions we saw last week, and hope to never see them happen again.

“As Minnesotans, I know we have love in our hearts. We should always remember to exude that love through grace, patience, right thought and peaceful actions.

“As we transition to a new administration it’s time for our country to move forward and work together as Americans to keep the American Dream strong for generations to come.”

MN GOP Statement on Twitter’s Ban of President Trump

“Twitter’s decision to ban President Trump from its platform was irresponsible and will have many unforeseen consequences.

“Twitter could have continued to delete specific tweets from the President’s account that went against their rules, but permanently banning a sitting President from expressing his opinion on social media is not the right answer.

“Most Americans agree that tech companies have too much control over information.

“Our country needs to have a serious debate on big tech’s continually growing role in our lives, and how we can make sure that they are not controlling information to benefit the agenda of the elites in Silicon Valley.”

MN GOP Statement on Capitol Violence

“The violence taking place at the United States Capitol is not American or representative of what we believe in, in our country.

“Peaceful protests are protected by our constitution, attacking police and breaking into the Capitol is not.

“It’s important we remember we are all Americans. Hoping for peace, safety and positive forward path for all.”

MN GOP Statement on New COVID Rules

“Over the past year hundreds of small businesses across our state have been shuttered, thousands have died and all Minnesotans have lived under the rule of one man: Governor Tim Walz.

“Today, the Governor’s announcement to reopen Minnesota partially is just more of the same of his haphazard, back and forth approach.

“Governor Walz is completely out of touch with the challenges we face to support our families and live our lives. A resignation before causing more harm is certainly in order.”

MN GOP Statement on Governor Walz’s Executive Orders

“Governor Walz continues to make unilateral decisions controlling all aspects of Minnesota’s businesses, families and well-being in response to moving through the pandemic.

“To loosen restrictions by allowing bars and restaurants to resume outdoor service in the middle of winter when temperatures are often below freezing is not a solution to restart our economy or provide revenues these businesses need to maintain their viability, especially after the year they’ve already been through.

“During times of crisis a great leader is one that listens to the people he represents, leads with careful and thoughtful input from many diverse voices and understands Minnesotans are smart enough to make the right decisions for their families. A great leader doesn’t kill an economy, cancel holidays, dictate our children’s ability to learn and then bailout businesses with their own hard-earned taxpayer dollars; due to decisions he made which put them in an untenable position in the first place.”

MN GOP Statement on Voter Irregularities

“Over the past several weeks, we’ve been analyzing the data and results from the general election. What we are finding – extreme abnormalities and statistical variations from Minnesota’s historic voter trends.

“Four years ago President Trump did not target Minnesota and came within 1.5 points and won 78 of our 87 counties. Now, as we look back on November 3rd, we are seeing numbers in both the Presidential and United States Senate race that are unusual.

“President Trump has amassed significant totals of raw votes in strong Trump counties, but we are seeing those gains drowned out by even larger gains from counties that have been shifting away from Democrats since 2008, such as St. Louis County in Northern Minnesota’s “Iron Range” and also the suburban/exurban counties of: Wright, Carver, Scott, Sherburne and Anoka.

“Democrats saw declining vote totals in two consecutive Presidential elections in Wright County, including a -14.8% decline in 2016, then in 2020 there was a sudden surge twice as large for Biden with 52.1% growth. Anoka County decreased -14.8% in 2016 and surged as well to 33.6% new Democrat votes for Biden in 2020. Carver County saw a 43.1% increase in votes for Biden in 2020 versus a 3.7% growth in 2016 and a .4% growth in 2012 for the Democratic candidate for President.

“These data abnormalities tells us something is off. It is our responsibility to shed light on these abnormalities, ensure the election was administered fairly, verify there were no machine failures and stand behind our fundamental rights as Americans to ensure our elections are always free and fair.”

MN GOP Statement on Governor Walz Closing Down Bars, Restaurants, Fitness Centers, and Youth Sports

“Governor Tim Walz’s unilateral decisions to shut down our economy again is disconcerting, especially as we enter the holiday season.

“This has already been a difficult year for Minnesota’s small businesses and Governor Walz is not even giving them a fighting chance.

“Shutting down youth sports is probably the worst decision Walz has made throughout the pandemic. The data shows that youth sports aren’t responsible for the spread of the virus. Given the mess that public schools are in right now, sports is the only normal thing that a lot of kids have in their lives. This decision will set off a cascade of unintended consequences for an entire generation of Minnesotans.”

MN GOP Statement on Bakk and Tomassoni Leaving DFL

“The DFL has abandoned Greater Minnesota and we applaud Senators Bakk and Tomassoni for doing to the same to the DFL. Time and time again we’ve seen that the Minnesota Democrats dismiss and denigrate the people who live outside of the metro and now they are paying the price.

“Whether it’s their embrace of the defund the police movement or their failure to condemn rioters we’ve seen that the DFL is a metro-centric party that serves the interests of the their radical Leftist base.”

MN GOP Statement on Governor Walz COVID Restrictions

“Governor Walz has not been streamlined in his response to COVID.  When it suits his purposes he champions the data, when it doesn’t fit his position, he ignores the data. We’ve watched for nearly nine months as he’s taken advantage of his position to have it both ways and control all Minnesotan’s lives.

“It is unfortunate the Governor is ordering bars and restaurants to close at 10pm, why allow anything to be open at all? The impact of his decisions will single-handedly further destroy an industry that is already struggling to make ends meet.  What happened to a free and fair nation where individuals are allowed to choose personal responsibility and do what works best and is most comfortable for them?

“It is far past the time where the Governor should have rescinded his powers, rolled back this extreme government overreach and stopped abusing the powers of his office to work co-equally with all branches of our government to allow more voices in the room and options to be put out on the table.”
