|MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairwoman, Jennifer Carnahan, released the following statement on Jeff Johnson’s primary victory in the Gubernatorial Election:
“The power of the Republican Party of Minnesota’s ground game was in full force tonight when Minnesota voters elected Jeff Johnson in tonight’s primary. Our strategy of targeting voters, standing behind our grassroots and supporting our endorsed candidate unequivocally does matter.
Jeff’s victory in the primary is a testimony to the endorsing process and the hard work of Jeff’s campaign and the Republican Party of Minnesota.
Jeff has the experience and values necessary to reach a wide range of voters in Minnesota and win back the Governor’s seat, and he has proven that tonight with his primary election win.
Minnesota has been trending and turning more red over the past three election cycles and we are confident in our abilities to elect Jeff as Minnesota’s next Governor in November.
We would also like to congratulate former Governor Tim Pawlenty’s campaign efforts and commitment throughout this race. Tim is an incredible leader and our party was fortunate to have had two very strong candidates on the ballot for Minnesotans.
Now its time for Republicans to unify behind Jeff Johnson and make Minnesota red in November!”
